Wedgwood Blue Jasperware
A Wedgwood blue jasperware display plate with a central year 2000 Millennium Silver insert together with a half circle white bas-relief underneath.
The hallmarked 925 Silver insert is fixed into the plate, it measures around 2 inches in diameter and features a sundial, digital clock face, candle and a traditional clock face with the word Millennium above and 2000 below.
The sundial, digital clock face, candle and traditional clock face all represent different methods and eras of timekeeping and these four items were also featured on the reverse of the 1999 Gibraltar Millennium coin to symbolise the passage and history of time. Please note there are some light scratches on the silver insert as shown.
The plate itself is first quality, it measures approximately 9 inches in diameter and is impressed "Wedgwood Made in England" on the reverse.
