Wedgwood Black Basalt
A pair of Wedgwood black basalt oval plaques depicting women in classical dress mounted behind perspex within a black painted frame.
Each plaque measures approximately 6 inches by 5 inches and the frame measures approximately 21 inches by 14 1/2 inches.
A small plaque to interior reads "Herculaneum Plaque / After 18th Century Wedgwood original / inspired by wall paintings from Herculaneum / No. 23 in a Limited Edition of 150".
On the back the writing on the first plaque reads "Dancer with an olive branch inspired by Herculaneum, Italy, wall painting plaque after a 18th Century Wedgwood original ©2000" and on the second plaque "Dancer bearing tray of figs inspired by Herculaneum, Italy, wall painting after a 18th Century Wedgwood original ©2000".
These framed plaques are in very good condition however, as shown there is some slight paint missing on the frame (this can't be seen when hung).
Please be aware this is a very big and heavy piece.
